About XPS Group: XPS Group is a prominent and growing UK consultancy and administration firm within the pensions and insurance sectors. As a FTSE 250 company with over 2000 employees, we leverage expertise alongside advanced technology to serve over 1,400 pension schemes and their sponsors. Our goal is to foster a workplace where diverse talents thrive.

About The Role: We’re searching for an exceptional Senior Project Analyst to join our Administration Project Team (APT) of around 130 experts. APT is made up of eight dedicated teams, each delivering expert project support that drives the success of our business. You’ll be part of our GMP Data Solutions team, the specialists behind the delivery and implementation of GMP equalisation and rectification projects.

This team leads the way in project management, technical guidance, and client engagement, working closely with administration teams and attending key client meetings to ensure seamless project execution.

This is a pivotal, technically challenging role that demands deep pensions administration expertise, strong calculation capability, and hands‑on experience working with large, complex data sets. We’re looking for a professional who brings an enthusiasm for complex data, meticulous detail, and a commitment to delivering impactful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Validate, reconcile, and consolidate large bulk data sets, bringing multiple pension amendments together into a single accurate output.
  • Represent the team in internal and client meetings, delivering clear and confident project updates.
  • Apply specialist knowledge of anti‑franking and Later Earnings Addition (LEA).
  • Map, overlay, merge, and interrogate complex data sets with precision.
  • Conduct deep dive data analysis to identify patterns, discrepancies, and changes across data sets.
  • Perform data cleansing and categorise data in line with detailed benefit specifications.
  • Produce high quality client closure reports and guide administration teams through project handovers.
  • Manage bulk data uploads and amendments within administration systems.
  • Work collaboratively with IT, Communications, Advisory, Project Managers, and other APT teams to deliver coordinated, high quality project outcomes.
  • Support continuous improvement by contributing to process development and promoting agile, flexible working practices.
  • Extract, manipulate, and interpret data to drive project success.
  • Bring a questioning mindset, strong initiative, and a deep understanding of DB pension structures to every task.
Your Profile
  • Experience in a pensions project role or within pensions administration.
  • Strong working knowledge of Defined Benefit (DB) pension schemes.
  • Confident intermediate user of Microsoft Excel.
  • Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and stay ahead of deadlines.
  • Proven track record of delivering tasks and projects within agreed timescales.
  • A proactive learner who adapts quickly to new information and processes.
  • Ability to follow procedures, policies, and instructions with consistency and accuracy.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and pride in your work.
  • Exceptional attention to detail – both numerical and written.
  • Excellent communication skills and active listening abilities.
  • Comfortable working within a multi‑disciplinary team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
