Vehicle Mechanic

Heathrow Airport

Monday to Friday | 8am 5pm | 40 hours + overtime

£35,000 £ 38,500 per year

Our client is a leading Ground Support Equipment (GSE) engineering and fleet management company based at Heathrow Airport. Due to continued growth and investment in their state‑of‑the‑art workshop, they are looking to recruit an experienced Vehicle Technician / GSE Engineer to join their expanding team.

As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of commercial vehicles and airport equipment, including:

• Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules
• Servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs, GSE, and plant equipment
• Performing diagnostics, inspections, brake and smoke tests
• Identifying faults and reporting required repairs and parts to the Workshop Supervisor
• Completing job cards, inspection sheets, and workshop paperwork accurately
• Booking out parts and highlighting VOR (Vehicle Off Road) parts when required
• Supporting workshop operations to ensure maximum fleet availability

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• City & Guilds Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance (Level 2 considered)
• Minimum 2 years experience in HGV, GSE, or Light Vehicles
• Proven mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills
• A full UK driving licence
• Ability to pass airside clearance (criminal record check and 5-year employment history)
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
