The Barbican is a multidisciplinary international arts centre in the City of London. As the Barbican approaches its 50th anniversary, the Centre is now at a pivotal moment in its history. With a new CEO taking up post from January 2026, £191m secured for the first phase of a major capital transformation, a refreshed audience‑centric approach in development and a reshaping of our artistic vision announced in 2025, the Centre is putting in place the foundations for the next 50 years.
To help drive this forward at pace, the CEO support team is expanding, and we are recruiting for an CEO Office Assistant to join on a fulltime, permanent basis.
The roleWe are looking for someone to work proactively and provide efficient and effective administrative support for the CEO Office, enabling the in the most efficient, cost‑effective and harmonious way.
This role sits at the centre of the organisation and requires exceptional judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with professionalism and confidence.
Essential requirements- Experience of providing administrative support
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office with excellent word processing skills MS Excel, advanced MS Outlook and MS Power Point
- Experience of learning new systems and processes
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to mix with internal and external stakeholders at all levels and of all experience, and to be able to handle issues with tact, discretion, sensitivity and diplomacy in a confidential environment
