Communications Officer
Location:
London (hybrid office/home)
Salary: £39,018 per annum pro rata
Hours:
17.5 per week - days to be agreed
Contract:
Temporary until May 2026
About our client
Our client is a respected UK membership organisation in the health sector. Their Communications team produces high-quality print and digital materials that inform, support and engage members across the UK.
The role
As Communications Officer, you will coordinate the production of member communications and publications from brief to delivery. You will manage schedules, keep databases and stock levels updated, proofread content, and work closely with designers, printers and stakeholders. The post offers hybrid working from the London office, with occasional UK travel and some evening or weekend activity to support key events.
Key responsibilities
* Administer communications and publications workflows, tracking each stage.
* Maintain production files, databases and stock records for materials.
* Proofread and edit copy, upholding house style and branding.
* Write short abstracts, event copy and marketing content as needed.
* Liaise with designers and print suppliers to brief and approve work.
* Coordinate targeted mailings using internal databases and mailing lists.
* Help maintain the image library, permissions and archiving of materials.
* Process purchase orders and invoices, tracking spends with Finance.
* Support campaigns and wider Communications projects as required.
About you
* Experience in a communications, marketing or publications support role.
* Educated to A Level standard or equivalent, or a qualification in communications or related.
* Experience in both physical and digital media.
* Proofreading experience is essential.
* Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays as required.
* Strong written English with excellent attention to detail.
* Confident using databases, MS Office and digital tools.
* Highly organised, able to manage multiple deadlines.
