Job Summary
We are looking for a competent part‑time or full‑time Senior Admin with a minimum of 1 year experience within NHS GP services (Systm One user). You will need to work within a busy team environment while also being able to use your own initiative and work independently when necessary. A good working knowledge of NHS focused software, Systm One, is essential.
You will be dealing with patients and outside agencies, accessing the service on the telephone and face to face, so strong communication skills are required.
- Assisting the reception team
- Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system
- Processing telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, directing callers to the appropriate healthcare professional
- Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines
- Computer data entry, allocation and collation; recording information in line with practice procedures
- Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members and associated healthcare agencies and providers
- Providing clerical assistance to practice staff as required, including word/data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning
- Procuring refreshments for staff and visitors and keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy
- Keeping the reception area, notice boards and leaflet dispensers tidy and free from obstructions and clutter
- Triage at reception
- Scanning and attaching documents
- Registrations
- Processing referrals of all types, including insurance and private reports
- Actioning and clearing task groups
- Monitoring and ordering stock as required
- Licensing with IT when needed
- Making appointments, texting and coordinating from chronic disease lists
- Booking remote appointments
- Systm One trained
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a GP practice
- Experience of using Systm One or Emis Web
- Basic IT skills: MS Office, MS Excel, MS Teams, One Drive
Salary: Depending on experience
Contract: Permanent
