Part-time flexible receptionist required. Must be flexible and living within 3 miles of practice location. Reliability and multi-tasking skills is essential. You will need to be a good communicator, fluent in English, written and spoken, with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; especially under pressure. You will have a range of patient facing and administrative tasks, so excellent organisational skills and time management are critical.
A caring, empathetic character is essential. Experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.
The position is permanent, part-timewith a flexible shift pattern. Hours of work range between 7:45am - 6:45pmMonday to Friday.

- Reception or customer care experience is essential
- The person must be an excellent communicator both spoken and written
- Must have PC skills will be able to use basic Word, Excel and e-mail
- Must be able to work within processes/procedures
- Work effectively with colleagues as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn and progress with a can do attitude.
- Previous experience of working in the NHS is welcome but not essential.
- The ability to communicate with a wide range of people in a kind, professional and caring way.
The successful applicant will help deliver patient services inorder to support high standards of patient care. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential to the role, as are good administration andIT skills, along with a good work ethic.
Previous GP experience is desired but we would still welcome applications from someone who has no experience, but is willing and quick tolearn.

Job responsibilitiesThe purpose of the role is to
Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice, including the provision of secretarial and clerical support to clinical staff and other members of the practice team
Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies
Duties and responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the practice administration team may include any or all of the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the senior receptionist/practice manager, dependent on current and evolving practice workload and staffing levels
- Opening up/locking up of practice premises and maintaining security in accordance with practice protocols
- Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointments system
- Processing personal and telephone requests for appointments, visits and telephone consultations, and ensuring callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
- Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
- Taking messages and passing on information
- Filing and retrieving paperwork
- Processing repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines
- Scanning and filing clinical letters with practice guidelines
- Computer data entry/data allocation and collation; processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures
- Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated healthcare agencies and providers
- On a daily basis read and take action to tasks in Clinical system sent by clinicians/administrators
