Bookkeeper - Part Time

Overview

We are supporting a growing specialist Consultancy operating within the life sciences sector who deliver strategic and operational support to a diverse client base.

An opportunity has arisen for a highly capable Part Time Senior Bookkeeper to manage core financial activities and contribute to the effective operation of the finance function.

• Day-to-day bookkeeping including bank reconciliations, invoicing, supplier payments, expenses, and payroll support.
• Month-end close activities including reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, journals, and management reporting.
• Accounts receivable and payable management including invoice queries, payment chasing, AR ageing, supplier invoice processing, payment runs, and statement reconciliations.
• VAT preparation and submission, maintaining audit-ready financial records, and liaising with European accountants on statutory, payroll, VAT, and month-end matters.

• Proven experience in a senior or advanced bookkeeping role, ideally within the Life Sciences, consulting or professional services industries.
• Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping, month-end processes, and journal postings.
• Experience with VAT returns, reconciliations, invoicing, expenses, AP/AR, and cashbook entries.
• Knowledge of payroll processes and statutory updates.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Strong communication skills, including working with international teams.
• Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Xero; experience with multi-country accounting is a plus.
