We're working with a specialist media and music accountancy firm looking to hire a Senior Tax Accountant to join their growing Tax & Compliance team.
This isn't your typical general practice role.
Our client works with a diverse portfolio of musicians, artists, bands, touring professionals and high-profile creatives, alongside trusts and owner-managed businesses. The work is fast‑paced, varied, and often a little more interesting than your standard SME tax return.
The firm is building out its year‑end and compliance tax function, and this role will sit at the heart of it - focused on producing returns, managing compliance, and handling HMRC queries across a unique and high-profile client base.
The RoleYou’ll take ownership of a compliance-heavy portfolio while supporting the wider firm on tax matters.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing personal, corporate and partnership tax returns
- Managing a portfolio of individuals, trusts and creative businesses
- Handling HMRC enquiries and compliance queries
- Supporting with VAT, payroll, P11
Ds and Making Tax Digital requirements - Assisting with year‑end reporting and ensuring all deadlines are met
- Working closely with accounts and business management teams
The work is deadline-driven, detail-focused and requires someone comfortable operating in a busy, specialist environment.
About YouWe're looking for a technically strong tax professional who enjoys compliance-led work but also wants exposure to a more exciting and creative client base.
You will likely have:- 3+ years' experience in a tax-focused practice role
- Strong experience preparing personal and/or corporate tax returns
- Experience dealing with HMRC enquiries
- ACA, ACCA, ATT or CTA (qualified or part-qualified)
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Work within a true media and music accountancy specialist firm
- Exposure to musicians, touring professionals and high-profile creatives
- Varied work beyond standard SME practice
