Role Overview As an Audit Semi-Senior , you will play an integral role within the audit team, supporting managers and partners in the delivery of statutory audits and assurance assignments. You'll be responsible for completing fieldwork, testing, and drafting financial statements while mentoring junior team members and liaising directly with clients. This position offers significant exposure to a varied client portfolio and a clear pathway toward an Audit Senior or Manager role.
Key Responsibilities Assist in planning, executing, and finalising audit assignments in accordance with UK auditing standards. Prepare working papers, perform substantive and control testing, and ensure audit files are fully compliant with firm standards. Draft financial statements under FRS 102 and other applicable frameworks. Review and reconcile balance sheets, P&L accounts, and supporting schedules. Identify and communicate audit issues and control weaknesses to the Audit Manager or Partner.
Liaise directly with clients to gather information and build strong professional relationships. Support junior staff through on-the-job training and supervision. Work collaboratively across departments to deliver integrated business solutions. Requirements Essential:
Part-qualified or newly qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent). Minimum 2 years' experience in audit within a UK accountancy practice. Good technical understanding of UK GAAP and auditing standards. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Confident using accounting and audit software (e.g. CCH, Case Ware, Xero, or similar). Desirable:
Experience working with SMEs, owner-managed businesses, or international clients. Exposure to tax compliance or management accounting work. Familiarity with cloud-based systems and data analytics tools.
