The Company

Sheridan Maine is working in partnership with a well-established and forward-thinking accountancy practice based in North London to recruit a Senior Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity to join a professional and supportive firm, managing a varied client portfolio and playing a key role in the delivery of high-quality accounting services.

The Role

The Senior Accountant will take responsibility for managing client accounts, preparing statutory and management accounts, and supporting junior team members. You will work closely with managers and partners, providing technical expertise and maintaining strong client relationships.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for:
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and financial statements for a portfolio of clients.
  • Producing management accounts and supporting year-end processes.
  • Reviewing the work of junior team members and providing guidance and support.
  • Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and provide accounting advice.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and practice procedures.
  • Supporting managers and partners with ad hoc projects and assignments.
The successful Senior Accountant will possess:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified or qualified by experience, with a minimum of 2 years' practice-based accounting experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards and statutory reporting.
  • Experience managing a client portfolio within an accountancy practice.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • A high level of accuracy with a well-organised and proactive approach.
