Interim Group Reporting Consultant – PE-Backed Healthcare Consulting Business
- Contract Length: 6 months (Interim)
- Location: London – Hybrid (with ad hoc travel to Manchester as required)
- Start Date: Immediate
Stanton House is partnering with a PE-backed healthcare consulting and advisory business to appoint an experienced Interim Group Reporting Consultant on an initial 6-month contract. Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, this is a technically focused role supporting statutory reporting, audit, and group accounting across the UK headquarters and subsidiaries.
This role will suit a technically strong accountant with experience in PE-backed environments who is highly competent in statutory accounts, technical accounting papers, and audit support. The business operates at scale, with revenues of c.£200m+, and requires an interim who can add immediate value during a critical reporting and audit period.
Key Responsibilities- Act as a technical accounting specialist supporting group statutory reporting.
- Play a key role in the external audit process, with specific focus on statutory accounts.
- Draft statutory accounts (UK entities), working closely with auditors and internal stakeholders.
- Review and prepare technical accounting papers for review by the Board of Directors.
- Provide expert technical accounting advice on complex transactions and accounting treatments.
- Support group financial reporting and disclosure requirements in line with UK GAAP / IFRS as applicable.
- Monitor, interpret, and communicate changes in accounting standards and legislation to stakeholders.
- Support the potential implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory changes.
- Ensure consistency of accounting policies and treatments across UK entities.
- Work closely with the wider group finance team to support month-end, year-end, and ad hoc reporting requirements.
- Assist with continuous improvement of group reporting processes, controls, and documentation.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent).
- Strong technical accounting background with hands‑on statutory accounts experience.
- Proven experience working in PE-backed businesses.
- Track record of supporting audits and preparing/reviewing statutory reporting.
- Comfortable producing and reviewing technical accounting papers for senior stakeholders and Board-level review.
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and/or IFRS, with the ability to interpret and apply new standards.
- Highly detail‑oriented, organised, and able to work to tight deadlines.
- Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with auditors, senior finance leaders, and non‑finance stakeholders.
