TPF Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing accountancy and advisory firm in Croydon, who are looking to recruit an Audit & Accounts Senior Manager to join their busy and supportive team.
This firm provides high-quality audit, accounts, and advisory services to a wide range of clients, including SMEs and entrepreneurial businesses. They pride themselves on delivering excellent client service while fostering a collaborative and professional working environment. This role is ideal for an ambitious and experienced individual who wants to take a senior position with a strong focus on reviewing and mentoring staff.
Aboutthe Role
In this role, you will manage a portfolio of clients across audit and accounts assignments, ensuring the highest quality of service and accuracy in all deliverables. A key aspect of this role is reviewing the work of junior team members to ensure compliance, accuracy, and consistency.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing audit engagements from planning to completion
- Preparing statutory and annual accounts for a diverse client base
- Conducting thorough risk assessments and testing key controls
- Reviewing, checking and signing off the work of junior staff, providing guidance and constructive feedback
- Preparing management letters and reporting audit findings to clients
- Coaching, mentoring, and supporting junior and mid-level team members to improve technical skills and efficiency
- Maintaining and developing strong client relationships, providing proactive advice
- Supporting Partners with client portfolios and business development opportunities
- Ensuring compliance with professional standards, accounting regulations, and internal processes
- Contributing to process improvements to drive efficiency and quality
The ideal candidate will have:
- ACA or ACCA qualification, with desire to achieve RI status in the future
- Substantial experience in audit and accounts within a practice environment
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and audit standards
- Experience managing and mentoring junior team members
- Excellent client-facing skills with a professional and proactive approach
- Confidence in handling multiple client engagements and deadlines
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Quick Books, or similar
