Software Development Engineer in Test

Waterloo, ON (Canada)

• Build and set up Test Automation frameworks to test Play Station features.
• Drive testing of complex projects across multiple teams and platforms. Evaluate gaps in testing and write high‑quality automation to increase test coverage.
• Partner with stakeholders to ensure test coverage and build test plans that help deliver high‑quality features.
• Write automation scripts for features with key characteristics of stability and maintainability to prevent regressions in the product code.
• Build automation infrastructure to create CI pipelines, enable automation runs, develop visualization, and evangelize them with various QE teams.
• Mentor team members and provide technical leadership by reviewing test plans and automation scripts and providing feedback.
• Communicate testing strategy and technical subjects related to testing frameworks, collaborating effectively with globally distributed teams to achieve business goals.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent knowledge.
• At least 6 years of experience in automated test case development for full stack applications, including test framework development.
• Significant experience in any Object‑Oriented programming language.
• Experience with developer tools such as Git and Docker.
• Experience in creating comprehensive test strategies and test plans.
• Demonstrated experience recommending QE process improvements.
• Experience configuring CI pipelines, preferably using Jenkins.

• Experience writing code in Python.
• Experience with Selenium or Appium.
• Familiar with the Page Object Pattern.
• Experience with API testing tools and frameworks (Postman, REST Assured).
• Experience architecting testing frameworks.
• Experience with React Native.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Works independently under minimal direction with strong work ethics.
• Able to work quickly and productively in a fast‑paced environment.
• A passion for writing robust code.
