Auto Body Technician

Position Summary:

CSN Shirley Drive is looking for an licensed 310B Auto Body Technician to join our team. Our Auto Body Technician must be able to take a vehicle in a damaged state and repair or restore damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The incumbent is detail‑oriented and can multitask to accommodate shifting priorities. The technician reports to the General Manager.

• Review work order and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
• Thoroughly examine collision damage (review the complete vehicle exterior body parts, check all power accessories such as door locks/windows/mirrors and verify that the dash panel has no warning lights on; identify any prior damages overlooked on the QA checklist or related supplemental damage sheet)
• Perform structural and complete body repairs
  :
  Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors, frame and underbody components; assess, repair or replace interior and exterior parts, electrical components, and vehicle accessories
• Straighten bent frames using frame‑and‑underbody pulling and anchoring equipment; hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
• Weld on vehicles with MIG welders and compression spot welders
• Fully dismantle complete vehicle damaged areas, including blend panel parts, to identify hidden damages early in the repair cycle (for example, remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch, bolt or weld replacement parts into place, and repair or replace damaged windows, windshields and sunroof)
• File, grind and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand tools
• Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
• Follow all OEM procedures using all data
• Inspect repaired vehicles and test‑drive them for proper handling
• Read and understand estimates
• Read and comprehend automotive repair procedures
• Work with a variety of metals and plastics, as well as glass, electrical and mechanical parts
• Use frame and measuring equipment
• Perform disassembly and reassembly of vehicles
• Follow standardized production processes
• Be a great CSN ambassador
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

• Auto Body Collision and Damage Repairer (310B) Red Seal License
• Technicians with I‑Car training are favorable
• Carrying, lifting – 100 lbs; standing, sitting, walking, reaching
• Valid G Class driver’s license required
• 3 to 5 years of working knowledge of Mitchell / Audatex
• Must have own tools, safety footwear
