We are seeking a dedicated HVAC Journeyman to join our Southwest Ontario team in the Kitchener/Waterloo area. You will conduct installation, repair, and maintenance of HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. Travel within the surrounding region is required.
OverviewThe HVAC Journeyman Technician is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of HVAC systems, including installation, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and preventive maintenance.
Responsibilities- Maintain and service chillers, heat pumps, steam boilers, air handling units, fans, humidifiers, pumps, VAV boxes, motors, refrigerators, and freezers.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, replace, calibrate, and program HVAC controls.
- Replace filters and belts.
- Update documentation (drawings, specifications, O&M manuals, etc.) related to HVAC services.
- Install new services in renovation or building changes as directed by the Manager.
- Recommend ordering of HVAC supplies.
- Respond to environmental comfort complaints.
- Perform log readings.
- Install wall and ceiling mounted accessories.
- Complete preventive and required maintenance tasks; enter maintenance records on work orders.
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and related regulations.

- Successful completion of a recognized HVAC and/or refrigeration certificate.
- Must be a Skilled Trades Ontario certified 313A Journeyperson.
- Must have a valid G1 gas license.
- Working knowledge of building services including air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical and mechanical equipment controls and systems in the ICI sector.
- Full understanding of the building automation system HVAC control strategies.
- Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and rectifying various issues related to HVAC equipment in the ICI sector.
- Working knowledge and experience with chiller, boiler and/or combustion equipment highly preferred.
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
- Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.
- A team player, committed to working in a quality environment.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.
- Bending and lifting required; lifting under 30 kg.
- Must be able to work on ladder or scaffold at various heights.
- Proficient user of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and DSI platform.
- Willing and able to travel for work within Southwest Ontario.
- Valid Ontario class G driver’s license.
- Security clearance requirements:
