Responsibilities- Ensuring a high level of customer service for assigned departments (cash, softgoods, hardgoods or grocery)
- Oversee the day-to-day operations
- Training and communicating policies and procedures to department associates on a daily basis
- Handle SKU, pricing issues, printing signs, labels, operating the RF unit
- Complete ordering and replenishment of merchandise
- Supervising a team within the assigned departments while ensuring cross‑functional collaboration
- Ensuring execution of the GT System (policies, procedures, standards) by all associates
- Takes appropriate action and provides recommendations based on analysis of the assigned area
- Lead merchandising activities
- Prepare and participate in inventory management activities (e.g., cycle counts)
- Provide input to the Store Owner/Manager for scheduling and quantification
- Resolve customer complaints quickly and professionally
- Opening and closing the store on a rotating basis
- Actively involved and connected with the store’s local community
- Support the store owner/manager on additional tasks and projects
- Ensure health and safety policies and guidelines are followed
- Ensure the checkout work area is kept clean and organized
- Ensure loss prevention best practices are followed
- Ensure compliance of all policies when selling tobacco and lottery
- Proven motivator / team leader
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Effective customer service, communication and interpersonal skills (with employees, customers, vendors, other third party)
- Exceptional planning and organizational skills
- Strong merchandising and analytical skills
- 1‑3 years retail management experience or equivalent Giant Tiger experience as a keyholder
A typical full‑time schedule will consist of day shifts, two evenings per week, and alternating weekends with a schedule of 35‑40 hours weekly.
Physical Demands- Stand and/or walk
- Bend, twist, and squat
- Lift and/or move up to 18 kg (40 lbs.)
- Perform tasks involving firm grasping
- Perform repetitive tasks requiring a range of hand motions
- Reach above shoulder height and below waist level
- Operate equipment, including using a ladder
Hourly Rate: $20.60
Annual Bonus:
Bonus – Store Bonus Plan, 10% Annual
