Our culinary division is dedicated to superior quality, and we are seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to uphold our high standards and lead our talented team.
Position OverviewThe Kitchen Manager is a crucial leadership role responsible for the daily operations of the back-of-house. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef, you will oversee all aspects of kitchen management, from staff supervision and training to inventory control and quality assurance. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader who thrives in a high-volume, high-quality environment and possesses a genuine passion for culinary arts and team development.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and lead a kitchen team of approximately 15, fostering a positive, professional, and productive work environment.
- Assist the Executive Chef with menu development, costing, and implementation.
- Maintain impeccable standards of sanitation, safety, and food handling in compliance with all health regulations.
- Control food and labour costs through effective scheduling, ordering, and inventory management.
- Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff, conducting regular performance evaluations and providing constructive feedback.
- Ensure consistency in all food production, from preparation to plating.
- Engage positively with club members and guests, representing the culinary department with professionalism.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in a kitchen management role (Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef) within a high-volume, quality-focused establishment.
- Experience in a private club, luxury hotel, or upscale restaurant environment is highly preferred.
- Proven leadership ability with experience managing and developing a diverse kitchen team.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, cost control, and procurement.
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining a high level of execution.
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional certification is an asset.
- Proficiency in kitchen management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
