Pastor

The Pastor supports Sunday school, Sunday worship service, and Wednesday evening prayer meeting. He provides leadership for the Church and is supported by a team of Deacons and Trustees. He visits members and others in hospitals and homes. He counsels those in need and ministers to a community that needs Christ and strives to bring Jesus to a mostly Catholic community.

The Big Picture

Faith Baptist Church (fbcstmarys.org ) is seeking a pastor to lead our independent evangelical church through preaching, shepherding the church and reaching the lost.

The Church

The purpose of Faith Baptist Church is to glorify God through ministering primarily to people in St. Marys, PA and surrounding communities through: evangelizing the lost, discipling those who are saved and demonstrating Christ’s love through the people of the Church.

It is the Church’s purpose to glorify God through Christ’s Great Commission as given in the Gospels. The Commission involves leading lost people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and leading saved people to spiritual maturity through worship, prayer, instruction, and fellowship. We are a small church with our own constitution. Church attendance had been close to 100 people before Covid but now is about 50 on Sunday mornings.

Faith Baptist Church also supports about a dozen missionaries.

The Community

Our small city of Saint Marys (13,000 people) is located in rural Elk County, PA with a population of about 31,000 people. Our church is located slightly west of the North Central part of the state.
