Ensure safe and efficient operation of plant and packaging equipment through mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting. Support continuous production and equipment reliability while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general mechanical repairs, preventative maintenance, and daily equipment inspections.
- Troubleshoot and repair production machinery; coordinate maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Modify and reconstruct equipment to meet safety and efficiency standards.
- Support installation and validation of new or transferred equipment; lead line setup and dismantle.
- Design, construct, and install plant fixtures, structures, and special‑purpose devices.
- Perform general building repairs as needed.
- Maintain equipment logs, document defects, and report unusual conditions.
- Clean and sanitize line equipment; change parts per protocol.
- Train and support operators in equipment setup and operation.
- Follow ISO 9001, GMP, and EH&S policies and procedures.
- Meet efficiency standards and participate in teams/committees as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Licensed Millwright; post‑secondary education and/or apprenticeship.
- 5–7 years of mechanical maintenance experience in manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and logic controls.
- Proficient in machining, welding, and use of shop and hand tools.
- Ability to collaborate with engineering and external contractors.
- Physically able to meet job demands (medical clearance required).
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, teamwork, and time management skills.
- Ability to train and guide others.
- Robotic programming experience.
- Knowledge of chemical handling procedures.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office).
