Reporting to a Manager or Supervisor, the Business Solutions Analyst assists the division to understand and improve system capabilities in the development of fully integrated business solutions using technology platforms. The Business Solutions Analyst works closely with end users, management, process improvement teams and Information Technology Services (ITS) to leverage technology and develop functionality of systems to meet business needs and improve services.
Work Performed:- Work with process improvement teams to identify systems requirements to meet required project outcomes.
- Provide support for projects related to the development of business solutions and related applications by undertaking business requirements analysis.
- Make recommendations and liaise with the manager and external vendors regarding specialized software to track applications to develop systems that enhance services.
- Analyze problems and develop methods to improve the effectiveness of business systems.
- Record, analyze and coordinate solutions to technical problems related to the operation and performance of business applications and identify and recommend enhancements to the application.
- Develop processes and workflows to meet business needs based upon knowledge of applications, databases, and related technologies.
- Liaise with Information Technology Services to help resolve technical issues.
- Respond to staff inquiries and issues; provide user support related to the technology.
- Provide advice and guidance to project team members on matters related to assignments.
- Create and coordinate user acceptance testing plans and activities for all technology related projects and update test cases.
- Assist with business requirements analysis, maintaining system integrity and user security setup.
- Provide information and guidance to divisional employees in new systems and processes.
- Develop, implement, and maintain change control processes for all application changes.
- Develop and maintain data sets through dashboards and other business intelligence tools; generate monthly and ad‑hoc reports.
- Support the area in defining key performance metrics, data and reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with divisional process improvement teams to align digital system with process maps and training tools.
- Monitor and maintain online portal; respond to escalated portal inquiries.
- Maintain various record databases; develop and communicate processes on related record systems.
- Assist with developing and maintaining process documents outlining current practices.
- Assist with creation of instructional tools.
- Assist in executing projects by providing support, testing and preparing documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned which may include modifying production data as needed to ensure accuracy.
Completion of an Advanced three-year post‑secondary Diploma in Computer Systems Technology or equivalent.
Experience:Four years of experience providing business function analysis using enterprise systems.
Specialized Training & Licenses:- Additional coursework in Business Analysis or Technical Systems Analysis is an asset.
- Certification in Project Management or GIS is an asset.
