Job Description:

As AVP, HRBP Enterprise Functions – Global Finance you will recommend and execute innovative people and culture strategies that add business value by addressing business opportunities and challenges, driving achievement of Sun Life’s purpose. You will act as a trusted advisor and deliver HR programs, insights, and guidance to drive business and HR outcomes with impact across Global Finance. Brings pragmatic, data-driven perspectives and solutions-orientation to initiatives and outcomes and participation as a member of Finance Function and HR leadership teams.

Leads, inspires, and develops BOLDER HR professionals operating in a team environment that embodies our values.

What will you do

Strategic Partnership
:
Collaborates with leadership to develop business strategies and align people strategies to drive organizational success. Articulates annual SMART goals and outcomes the team can deliver to drive achievement of business objectives. Challenges the status quo, including with focus on speed of decision making and digital, innovative thinking. Seeks to understand business/function opportunities and obstacles and strives to be just in front of the business to nudge and facilitate related people & talent changes.

Supports prioritization and makes decisions to focus on highest impact work, including identifying work that (whilst potentially a good idea) is not a current priority. Drives achievement of ambitious goals through test & learn, measurement, refinement, and holding others accountable, as needed.

Trusted Advisor
:
Partners directly with senior executives to provide coaching, consulting, solutions and constructive challenge, where appropriate. Builds strong, open relationships. Provides proactive advice using data, insights and analytics, creating a compelling business case to inform business and talent decision making now and for the future. Coaches team members to build trusted advisor capability with leaders and teams.

HR Delivery and Outcomes
:
Helps shape and lead execution of strategic people initiatives, which may include transformation, culture management, change management, and organizational effectiveness. Engages and co-creates solutions with HR colleagues (Centres of Expertise, People Services and HRBPs) to solve business issues and optimize the employee experience. Builds knowledge of HR, technology and industry trends to advance employee capability, develop and attract talent for the future.

Ensures effective organization and work design, strategic workforce plans including supporting strategies to build a robust leadership pipeline, and actions for an inclusive, inspired workforce with confidence in their careers at Sun Life. Encourages performance excellence, providing honest, actionable, and timely feedback as well as recognition. Leads delivery of key HR initiatives and programs in Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Succession, Engagement, Performance, and Compensation and ensures effective governance.

Transformation and Digital Innovation
:
Embraces and promotes the use of technology, including AI and digital tools, to enhance HR processes, employee experience, productivity, and careers. Fosters a digital mindset and supports the development of digital skills across the organization.

People Leadership
:
