WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:The Diagnostic Imaging team at STEGH includes General Radiography (XRay), Computer Tomography (CT), Nuclear Medicine (NM), Bone Mineral Density (BMD), Mammograph, Ontario Breast Screening Program, Ultrasound, Gastric Barium Studies, and Specialized Procedures (Biopsies, Drainages, etc). All imaging procedures are performed by Medical Radiation Technologists (MRT) and interpreted by Radiologists using state‑of‑the‑art technology to provide the best possible service to our community and surrounding areas.
The Ultrasound Technologist will perform high‑quality procedures in accordance with departmental standards to aid in a patient's diagnosis and/or treatment.
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Program
- Registration with CMRITO
- BLS certificate
- Demonstrated competency in all aspects of general sonography
- Proficient in interventional ultrasound procedures
- Ability to exercise good judgment and application of practical and theoretical ultrasound knowledge
- Strong interpersonal verbal and non‑verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of infection control practices
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Evidence of ongoing continuing education and affiliation with Ultrasound Professional Associations
- Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
- Ability to adapt to changes in assignment throughout a shift, follow instructions and conduct yourself professionally
- Ability to work alone, prioritize and take initiative – self‑motivated
- Physical ability to carry out the essential duties of the position
- Excellent attendance record in accordance with STEGH’s Attendance Support Program
- Acceptable performance record in alignment with STEGH’s Mission, Vision, Values and Code of Conduct
- Experience with Cerner HIS and AGFA PACS
- Minimum of three (3) years' of post‑graduate ultrasound experience
- Vascular, Obstetrical and Musculoskeletal experience
The successful candidate must be available to work all tours applicable to the department. In addition, this position must be flexible to occasional changes in hours when required to meet the operational needs of the department and be able to commit to the non‑availability standards outlined in the Collective Agreement.
