This diverse team of professionals delivers customized tax strategies within a complex and dynamic regulatory framework.
As a trusted advisor, you’ll ensure clients capitalize on opportunities to receive government support for innovation by identifying eligible projects and navigating the multitude of government incentive programs and funding opportunities available. This opportunity is available in the following locations across Canada:
Toronto, Markham, Mississauga, Burlington, St. Catharines, Waterloo, Cambridge, or London, Ontario.

Responsibilities- Lead the delivery of SR&ED tax engagements for Medical Doctors and Life Science clients, in addition to other industry segments who are conducting leading-edge Scientific Research & Experimental Development (SR&ED) activities
- Review financial statements, general ledgers, trial balances, T2s, and other client source information to maximize the SR&ED tax credits
- Deliver industry and technical expertise relating to SR&ED through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations and high-quality deliverables
- Evaluate business processes and help clients (such as Doctors with Medical Professional Corporations (MPCs) identify and track eligible projects and costs under the SR&ED investment tax credit program
- Manage a portfolio of clients – deliver projects on time and on budget
- Gather supporting documentation and evidence of experimentation sufficient to satisfy the requirements of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Present arguments for eligibility in a clear and concise written format compliant with CRA criteria
- Network across MNP and as needed in the local business community for business development opportunities
- Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary
- CPA designation with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance/accounting or a related field
- Completion of In-Depth Tax program or other specialist courses are considered an asset
- 4 to 5 years of public accounting experience such as SR&ED Tax credits and other incentives, corporate income tax returns, financial accounting, financial analysis, financial reporting, preparing/reviewing SR&ED claims
- Knowledge of Canada’s SR&ED program is preferred, and knowledge of SR&ED within MPCs would be an asset
- Bilingual (English and French) would be an asset

The annual salary range for this position is: $85,000 - $135,000.
