Student Parking/By-law Representative (2 positions, temporary, full-time)
Do you enjoy working both indoors and outdoors? Are you looking to gain experience in the field of law and security? Our Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications from students to fill the summer position of Student Parking/By-Law Representative to support the Corporate and Legislative Services Department in Prince Edward County, a vibrant community with beautiful beaches, wide open landscapes and ample opportunities for outdoor fun, including artistic and cultural events, food, music and wineries/breweries.
The ideal candidate will be enrolled in a post-secondary program in Police Foundations, Law and Security, Law Enforcement or a related discipline and returning to school in the Fall. This student will be appointed as a Provincial Offences Officer to enforce parking in Picton, Bloomfield and Wellington, and will patrol the “No Parking” areas throughout the County, including at beaches and boat launches.
The Student Parking/By-Law Representative will issue parking tickets and may at times be required to attend administrative monetary penalty hearings. Other duties of this position will include data collection and entry support, as well as the administration of municipal by‑laws, such as parking by‑laws and canine control activities. The student will also respond to customer inquiries and complaints, as necessary.
General qualifications include:
- Enrolment in a recognized post‑secondary program and returning to school in the Fall.
- Safety conscious and can provide own certified safety footwear.
- Able to work as part of a team and independently, as required.
- Customer service focused.
- Proof of a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, dated within the last 6 months.
- Proof of a valid ‘G2’ or ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s Licence and a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract.
The current rate of pay is $22.20 per hour plus 4% in lieu of vacation pay. Applications are due at by end of day January 30, 2026. Please quote 2026-S1 and include your name in the subject line.
