What your day will look like
As a key team member, you will have the opportunity to:
Project Delivery
Manage/Lead projects for public and private sector clients related to EA, environmental permitting and approvals, and environmental compliance monitoring, with a focus on linear infrastructure EAs (Individual/Comprehensive EAs, Municipal Class EA, MTO, Hydro One, Metrolinx/TPAP)Manage/Support federal EAs and work with Indigenous communities. Work with multi-disciplinary teams on exciting and challenging projects, with a focus on removing barriers and improving access on roads, highways, transit, and active transportation facilitiesDevelop and lead innovative EA consultation processesPlay a key role in the growth and development of the team by empowering, inspiring and energizing the team through project experienceBusiness Development
Build client relationships through identification of market opportunities, client communications, preparation of proposals, and business development activitiesAbility to review and respond to RFPs and prepare project proposalsContribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committeesLearning & Development
Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional developmentContribute to the career development of less tenured staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching, and mentoringBe coached and mentored by some of Canada’s most well-respected leaders in Individual/Comprehensive EAs, MTO Class EAs, and Municipal Class EAsQualifications
What you will need to succeed
A university degree or post-undergraduate college diploma in planning, environmental studies, biology or a related field5+ years’ EA experience, preferably in the consulting industry, with an emphasis on linear infrastructure (pipelines, electric transmission lines, roads, highways, transit)Strong communication, report writing, organization, interpersonal skillsValid Class G Driver’s LicenseEligibility or full membership or candidate membership in the Ontario Professional Planners Institute is considered an assetExperience
Ideally, your experience can demonstrate the following:
Successful project delivery as an Environmental Lead for Class EAs (Municipal Class EA, MTO, TRPAP, and/or federal EAsIn-depth knowledge of relevant municipal, provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations, policies, guidelines, and regulatory permitting and approval requirementsExperience in the design and delivery of stakeholder and Indigenous Community engagement programs, including the use of innovative virtual engagement toolsExperience in business development activities including client development and responding to RFPsEnvironmental management during construction, including developing environmental management plans, on-site monitoring and documentation is considered an assetWe have a strong supportive and inclusive culture at Dillon and welcome these strengths and personal attributes:

Compensation:
$72,000 - $127,900
Dillon is including the salary range that we in good faith believe may offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range, contingent on factors unrelated to an applicant’s gender or other status protected by provincial and/or federal law.
