Overview
Our client in Kitchener-Waterloo is looking for an experienced Project Manager with Technical Expertise in Thermoforming equipment and processes to join their team in a full-time permanent role. As the project manager for this company, you will use your expertise in thermoform tooling and moulds to guide and educate customers in their requests for equipment design and creation. You will be the recipient of a competitive salary between $80-100K depending on your level of expertise and will participate in the company extended health plan, dental plan, EAP, RSP plan and safety shoe / safety prescription glass programs.
As the Project Manager, you will manage multiple projects for customers in the thermoformed packaging industry. You will be face-to-face with the customer, gather their project requirements, counsel them on the best design for their project, and troubleshoot any customer concerns with the equipment throughout the project lifecycle. You will initiate project documents, communicate technical requirements to the team, confer on budgets, schedule project milestones, and monitor and execute the project to delivery.
Responsibilities- Manage multiple customer projects in the thermoformed packaging industry from inception to delivery.
- Engage with customers to gather requirements and counsel on optimal design solutions.
- Initiate and maintain project documentation; communicate technical requirements to the team.
- Confer on budgets and milestones; monitor project progress and ensure timely delivery.
- Provide ongoing troubleshooting and support for equipment-related concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
- University degree or College Diploma in a related Engineering program such as Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar technical project management role (interacting with external customers).
- Experience and knowledge of thermoforming processes and tooling.
- Project coordination/management experience from a manufacturing industry.
- Technical ability to decipher detailed mechanical drawings.
- Excellent customer service, organization, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Strong command of the English language; verbal and written.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; MS Project is an asset.
- Willingness to learn and proficient use of PLM and ERP software.
- Self-motivated, able to work with moderate supervision in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adjust priorities and time frames as needed.
- Flexibility to respond to emergency, customer-impacting situations after hours (local or short commute preferred).
- Willingness to travel within North America and represent the company professionally.
Salary between $80-100K depending on experience; extended health plan, dental plan, EAP, RSP plan and safety programs.
