Major Responsibilities
  • To report directly to the Senior Manager – Environmental Health and Safety on an ongoing basis and communicate all relevant matters pertaining to EH&S as well as ISO systems.
  • The position involves supporting operations across the Waterdown and Mississauga sites with periodic travel to the Waterloo division as required.
  • Foster a culture of continuous EH&S improvement in alignment with the Lincoln Electric Higher Standard across the Greater Toronto Area facilities by sharing best practices.
  • Implementing and managing all EHS, ISO documentation, corporate policies, procedures and permits.
  • Ensure compliance with all EH&S laws/regulations/codes/rules.
  • Act as a liaison between management and external safety agencies, such as EMS, MOL, insurance personnel and LECO.
  • Advance the EH&S Management Systems and all ISO initiatives.
  • Maintaining and reporting EH&S performance metrics and communicate performance to Management and Lincoln Electric Global EH&S.
  • Assist and maintain the administration of our EH&S programs in our corporate database Quest as it relates to the assigned LECA facility.
  • Conduct ISO internal and external audits to maintain certifications
  • Conduct industrial hygiene sampling, evaluating facility exposure levels and providing guidance on the control and management of industrial hygiene exposures.
  • Run out contractor and new hire orientation.
  • Develop, implement and coordinate internal and external training programs to communicate EH&S and ISO information to facilitate employee awareness and involvement.
  • Coordinate facility EH&S inspections and Joint Health and Safety Committees to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
  • Investigate workplace incidents/injuries/ illnesses (i.e., near misses, recordable)
  • Lead in accident investigation and incident management.
  • To be available by phone (text/call) or email for emergency purposes outside regular working hours as described in the right to disconnect policy.
Education Skills and Experience
  • Post
    -secondary/Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, EHS or related with previous experience in EHS and ISO efforts required
  • Minimum of two year’s experience in a manufacturing EHS environment preferred
  • Knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and standards
  • Possess uncompromising integrity and attitude toward EH&S and ISO issues.
  • Have the ability to read, understand, and interpret regulatory requirements.
  • Will be required to travel to multiple sites
  • Excellent organizational and strong computer skills, especially in Excel, Power Point and Word.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be capable of interfacing with personnel at all levels of the organization.
  • Joint Health and Safety (JHS) certification preferred
  • Manufacturing safety trainings and certifications preferred
