Stantec is actively seeking a Transportation Engineer for our team located in Hamilton or London, Ontario. The role will involve consulting services for Class Environmental Assessment, Preliminary Design, and Detail Design projects for public sector clients, including the Ministry of Transportation Ontario and several Ontario Southwest/GTA municipalities.
Key Responsibilities- Direct roadway design staff and manage multi-discipline project teams.
- Financial management of projects, including budget forecasting, resource management, change-order management, and client invoicing.
- Develop proposals, budgets, and schedules, and conduct ongoing business development and liaison with clients.
- Collaborate with Transportation Leaders and other Project Managers to identify staffing, equipment, and training requirements.
- Support Stantec’s Quality Management System and promote the Stantec Environmental Health & Safety program.
- Ensure that the required functions of the project are satisfactorily performed.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Build a strong culture of quality design and teamwork.
- Clients may be both internal and external to Stantec.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and customer relationship skills.
- Experience in AutoCAD, Micro Station, and Open Roads or Civil 3D software.
- Experience in report and proposal writing.
- Experience in roadway design.
- University or college degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in road design and construction.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng. or LEL) required.
- Minimum of five (5) years demonstrated experience with project management or engineering design responsibilities.
Typical office environment involves working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements and inclement weather.
