We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator to provide support in the London, Ontario area.

Experience and Education
  • 5+ years of electrical industrial field experience
  • Relevant education (university degree, college diploma) or equivalent experience (10+ years as an industrial electrical journeyman or supervisor)
  • Experience estimating hours and material costs for E&I work
Skills and Knowledge
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Familiar with the Canadian Electrical Code
  • Ability to read construction drawings (single lines, cable schedules, layouts, wiring diagrams, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience installing electrical equipment, cables, raceways, lighting, heat trace, grounding, etc.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience and knowledge in estimating Instrumentation scopes of work
  • Proficient with Bluebeam Revu, Primavera P6, or Oracle Primavera Cloud
  • Familiar with Excel VBA and Power Query
  • Experience with material procurement
  • Experience reviewing project contracts
  • Experience with fibre optics, high voltage
Job Responsibilities
  • Reports to lead estimators
  • Create project proposals including:
    • Reviewing project scope of work, drawings, specs, standards, and other documents
    • Performing electrical takeoff of drawings and bills of material
    • Applying electrical labour using the NECA Manual
    • Compiling material lists for procurement
    • Create project execution plans
    • Assist in determining project staff and equipment
    • Assist in creating project schedules
    • Engage vendors and subcontractors
    • Coordinate proposal reviews with lead estimators
  • Estimate change orders for current projects
  • Attend site visits
  • Track time spent on estimates and fill out weekly timesheets
  • Participate in estimating staff training and improvement
Work Location
  • 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute unpaid lunch
Compensation and Benefits
  • Permanent full-time position
  • Competitive hourly wage based on experience
  • Company RRSP contribution after completion of 90-day probationary period
