Our second product, NOVA, is a materials dispensing system for flexible hybrid electronics. It was designed to meet the unique demands of novel electronics prototyping and materials research, providing precision dispensing on numerous rigid and flexible substrates.

We’re a tight-knit company looking for ambitious, talented individuals. We value the importance of team culture, and strive to create a work environment where you feel empowered through knowledge, supported by your colleagues, passionate about your work, and motivated to drive the growth of the company.

About the Job
  • Assist in the design, assembly, and debugging of electrical and functional test setups for prototype and production hardware.
  • Execute validation test plans and document results clearly for review by senior engineers.
  • Support root cause analysis of test failures by capturing measurements and replicating issues using lab tools.
  • Participate in bring-up and characterization of new hardware, capturing performance benchmarks, and edge‑case behavior.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of automated test scripts, fixtures, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and QA teams to ensure test coverage and traceability during production ramp‑up.
  • Help design and debug test stations for mechanical assemblies, sensors, and actuators.
  • Assist in testing and tuning motion systems (e.g., stepper motors, linear rails, gantries) and verifying performance under load.
  • Collect and analyze motion performance data, such as backlash, repeatability, and system drift.
  • Maintain organized records of test data, procedures, and revisions to support traceability and product certifications.

Working from the office in Waterloo at least three days per week.

About You

  • Basic familiarity with basic mechanical concepts such as tolerance stack‑ups, bearing loads, and linear motion systems.
  • Familiarity with CAD, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Basic soldering and rework skills for through‑hole and SMT components.
  • Clear communicator, able to write structured test reports and contribute to design/debug reviews.
  • Strong attention to detail, with an appreciation for repeatability and reliability in the test process.
Nice to haves
  • Experience supporting alignment or calibration of precision mechanical systems.
  • Comfort working with and testing motion systems such as steppers, servos, encoders, and sensor feedback loops.
  • Exposure to test automation frameworks involving motion control (e.g., G‑code, ROS, or vendor‑specific tools).
  • Familiarity with environmental, safety, or compliance testing (e.g., ESD, EMI, thermal cycling, vibration).
  • Comfort working in a cross‑disciplinary team spanning hardware, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing.
  • Experience supporting external test labs or certification bodies.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or test‑driven development principles in a hardware context.
Why We’re Awesome
  • We’re a scaling company - you’re hired to have a voice, not to be a cog.
