Salary: $65, to start, DOE (Full-time)

Worksite Safety Compliance Centre is looking to grow our current team of instructors, specifically for the delivery of our CPO-approved Working at Heights program. If you are a knowledgeable and experienced health and safety trainer who is passionate about construction safety education and keeping workers safe, this role is for you!

This position could be full-time or part‑time, depending on the candidate and will deliver training at our Training Centres in Waterloo and Cambridge, Ontario, and occasionally at other locations within the area. In addition to Working at Heights class delivery, there is an opportunity for this instructor to train on mobile elevated work platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and informative Working at Heights training to job seekers, the general public and new and current members of the construction industry
  • Evaluate participants through practical skills and written evaluation
  • Organize, file and submit digital and hard copy participant records following training
  • Potentially deliver other courses, such as Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) Training
  • Participate in team meetings and instructor development workshops
Qualifications and Experience
  • 3+ years experience delivering training (Working at Heights and MEWP preferred)
  • Forklift, mobile elevated work platforms and any other mobile equipment considered an asset
  • Background in construction management and/or other fall hazard‑related industry
  • Work experience or certification in occupational health & safety preferred
  • Strong interest educating people on the importance and value of health & safety training
  • Self‑starter who is able to work independently, while also contributing to a team
  • Strong presentation and adult‑engagement skills
  • Valid Ontario’s Driver Licence – occasional travel by car for work
  • Able to legally work in Canada
