Base pay range

Strategic Leadership & Program Ownership- Build and drive long-term safety strategy, standards, and roadmap.
- Own all written safety programs, including IIPP, Haz Com, LOTO, Emergency Action Plans, Respiratory Protection, Heat Illness, Ergonomics, and others required by Cal/OSHA.
- Lead safety governance structure ( ζ Safety Committee, audit cadence, reporting expectations).
- Develop and execute the annual safety calendar, including required training, audits, drills, and program updates.
- Lead the company’s safety culture transformation — visibility, accountability, coaching, and communication at all levels.
- Build recognition programs to reward and reinforce safe behaviors and reduce risk.
- Ensure full compliance with OSHA/Cal-OSHA, EPA and local air quality regulations, agricultural regulations, Santa Barbara County and cannabis-specific requirements.
- Maintain, update, and standardize all safety documentation, including SDS libraries, training records, and equipment certifications.
- Own OSHA logs (300, 300A, 301) and ensure accuracy, timely posting, and retention.
- Prepare the company for regulatory inspections and lead responses to OSHA/Cal-OSHA inquiries or citations.
- Develop and oversee a formal Lockout/Tagout Program, including per-equipment procedures.
- Implement and manage industrial equipment safety programs (forklifts, mechanical equipment, etc), keeping maintenance logs, and daily inspections.
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard analysis, root-cause investigations for any incidents and near misses with implementation of corrective actions. Deliver monthly reports to Leadership.
- Implement safety technology systems (incident tracking, LMS, inspections, etc).
- Create and maintain role‑specific training matrices for all functions (manufacturing, extraction, quality, farm, facilities & engineering)
- Establish and lead safety onboarding training and certification pathways.
- Deliver or oversee recurring trainings:
- PPE
- Forklift/Industrial Equipment Safety/Certifications
- LOTO
- First aid/CPR/AED
- Heat illness Prevention
- Emergency action plan
- Respiratory Protection
- Ergonomics Program
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in workplace safety, with 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Experience in agriculture, manufacturing, or other industrial operations.
- Knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, environmental and chemical safety and workplace traction compliance.
- Demonstrated experience building or restructuring company‑wide safety programs
- Strong leadership presence and ability to influence across all levels of an organization.
- Ability to work onsite regularly across multiple locations.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
- Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHMM.
- Experience in cannabis, agriculture, or other highly regulated industries.
