EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS

Education and Experience:
Wellness Coach Certification or ability to become certified through the California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI).
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Addiction Studies, Psychology
Field
Experience:
800 verifiable hours of experience within the last six years providing behavioral health services to children and youth through age 25 in a school-linked/school-based organization, non-profit, communication organization or health center.
OR
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in any field

2,700 verifiable hours of experience within the last six years providing behavioral health services to children and youth through age 25 in a school-linked/school-based organization, non-profit, communication organization or health center.
Licenses and other Requirements:
- Wellness Coach Certification preferred.
- Some positions may require the ability to speak, read, and write in a designated second language.
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of an assigned administrator and in coordination with a pupil Personnel Services credentialed professional, operate as part of a care team to provide support to students in a PreK-12 environment in the areas of behavioral health and well-being, offer prevention and early intervention services that supports the behavioral health and wellbeing of children and youth in the areas of wellness promotion and education, screening, care coordination, individual and group support, crisis referral, supporting youth in skills training, repetition, and practicing skills that are learned in higher-level care.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES:
- Design and facilitate targeted, developmentally appropriate lessons using evidence-based practices that foster emotional resilience, self-regulatio9n, and peer respect in alignment with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS).
- Utilize trauma-informed approaches during student interactions to identify emerging needs, track progress toward individual goals, and document interventions using district approved platforms.
- Establish and maintain cross-sector partnerships to enhance service delivery, identify gaps, and align resources with strategic wellness goals and community initiatives.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary communication among educators, counselors, mental health professionals and external providers to support continuity of care and comprehensive student wellness planning.
- Serve as a liaison to bridge communication among stakeholders, ensuring student needs are addressed holistically, through collaborative planning and culturally responsive practices.
- Actively contribute to Student Study Team (SST) or individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings to provide insight on wellness supports and reinforce shared accountability.
- Track student progress in PBIS programs using data collection tools and collaborate with staff to adjust intervention strategies based on outcome trends.
