IT Business Analyst

Location - Remote / Lombard, IL (position is primarily remote but will need to go into the office when needed)

Our client is looking to add an IT Business Analyst that will be working with stakeholders across business and technical teams to discover and document requirements and successfully participate and lead projects through their respective life cycles. The Business Analyst will also be responsible for defining and documenting the current state of applications, including system functionality, data flows, and business processes to provide a clear baseline for future enhancements.

The Business Analyst must be comfortable managing and driving the requirements-gathering phase of technology projects and creating the necessary deliverables to support development and quality assurance efforts.

Responsibilities:

• Elicit, analyze and document clear, comprehensive business requirements to support project and general enhancement requests
• Define and document current state of applications and their integrated systems, including process flows, system interactions, and data dependencies
• Translate technical specifications into robust business documentation, ensuring business logic, rules and dependencies are well understood and traceable
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and QA teams to validate requirements and ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of system processes, integrations, and requirements to support knowledge transfer and future-state planning
• Support impact analysis for application changes by assessing dependencies across applications, data, and processes
• Partner with business and technical teams to clarify requirements, resolve gaps and ensure accuracy of delivered solutions
• Go beyond just reading and understanding information, to making sense of it, and finding patterns for improvement.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of prior experience in a Business Analyst role.
• BA / BS in IT, statistics, computer science, mathematics, information management, business or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Prefer someone who has AI experience, also has experience with data mapping and migration projects.
• Must have experience as an Analyst for large complex projects.
• Experience working within the Insurance industry is a big plus.
• Interpersonal communication skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team with both the Business and technology staff.
• Skilled at defining and documenting business and functional requirements for ongoing system enhancement initiatives in agile software development environments.
• Experience writing clear acceptance criteria to a testable level.
• Experience in all phases of product, software, and testing life cycles.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Microsoft Office experience:
  Word for documentation, Excel for data handling, Visio for process explanation, PowerPoint for presentation and Outlook for email.

The anticipated hourly rate range for this position is ($50-55/hr). Actual hourly rate will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law.
