The DuPage County Health Department is looking for a new team member at our Lombard location. The ideal candidate will be able to assist nurses and prescribers in a busy outpatient psychiatric clinic and promote the efficient movement of clients through the clinic. We are looking for someone with the ability to adhere to office procedures while providing courteous customer service to clients seeking behavioral health services.
The hours for this position will be Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with an occasional evening working from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm. The pay for this position is dependent on experience.
This position offers a full DuPage County benefit package, which includes 12 paid holidays, 12 days of paid vacation, 5 paid personal days, accrued sick leave, and 12 weeks of paid parental time. This is also a pension‑eligible position, and we are a qualifying employer under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness.
Responsibilities- Take client vital signs and record in ECR
- Inventory and monitor supplies
- Maintains required training, licensure, and/or certification. Adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality. Participates in emergency response activities as assigned.
- Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to patient privacy laws. Demonstrates sensitivity and understanding of other ethnic groups and cultures.
- If bilingual, may assist with interpretation. (salary stipend provided to bilingual candidates)
- Assist with filling out forms
- Monitor and log equipment data
Experience working with clients or customers in a fast‑paced environment; medical environment is preferred. Ability to perform lab draws. Candidates with a phlebotomy certification and clinic experience are highly preferred.
Attendance at our Central Public Health Center in Wheaton, for paid HR new hire and BHS New Hire Orientation, from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm is required.
