Description

Position Summary:

The Lead Therapist / Clinical Supervisor provides clinical leadership, supervision, and direct therapeutic services within RGA’s community-based and outpatient behavioral health programs. Serving as a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA), this role ensures the delivery of high-quality, ethical, and evidence-based behavioral health services. The position blends direct service provision with clinical supervision, staff development, and quality assurance to support both individuals served and the clinical team.

Duties And Responsibilities Clinical Leadership & Supervision
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to therapists, counselors, and other behavioral health staff working in outpatient and community-based settings.
  • Deliver individual and group clinical supervision in compliance with LPHA, licensure, Medicaid/DMH, and organizational standards.
  • Review assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and progress notes to ensure clinical accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Mentor and support therapists/counselors through coaching, training, and performance feedback.
Direct Clinical Services
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy services as a licensed therapist/counselor.
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and establish accurate DSM diagnoses.
  • Develop and monitor individualized, person-centered treatment plans.
  • Utilize evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive therapeutic interventions.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
Program Oversight & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure outpatient and community-based behavioral health services meet RGA standards, payer requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, utilization review, audits, and program development.
  • Identify and mitigate clinical risk, service gaps, and staff training needs.
  • Collaborate with leadership on program planning, compliance, and service delivery improvements.
Collaboration & Community Integration
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, care coordinators, and community partners.
  • Coordinate care with primary care providers, psychiatrists, schools, and social service agencies as appropriate.
  • Serve as a clinical resource for staff, individuals served, and families.
  • Promote RGA’s mission, values, and person-centered philosophy across all service delivery.

Requirements

Required Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Illinois licensure as LCSW or LCPC (required).
  • Qualified as a Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPHA).
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience providing behavioral health therapy services.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership and/or supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior clinical supervision experience in outpatient or community-based behavioral health programs.
  • Experience with Medicaid-funded services and Illinois DMH requirements.
