Job Summary: The Patient Navigator-Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the Cancer Clinic works under supervision to provide developmentally appropriate, age-specific patient care in a fast-paced outpatient setting. The role involves performing procedures within the LVN scope, recognizing and reporting complications, orienting and assisting patients and providers, and ensuring documentation and insurance processes are complete. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: Graduation from a vocational nursing program is required. Minimum six months LVN experience or one year as a Medical Assistant in a physician's office is required. Oncology or hematology nursing experience is preferred.
Knowledge and Skills: Solid understanding of oncology/hematology diseases and treatments, proficient in English (Spanish preferred), computer skills, equipment operation, patient care activities, communication, policy enforcement, and critical thinking. Ability to manage multiple tasks, attention to detail, and professional behavior are essential.
Licensures and Certifications: Active California LVN license, BLS certification, IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal certifications preferred upon hire and required within 90 days.
