Overview
Loma Linda University Faculty Medical Group, Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a Rheumatologist to join our team. We seek candidates who want to devote their careers to academic medicine and are interested in teaching and scholarly pursuits. The position includes running a very active consultation service at the Loma Linda University Medical Center and outpatient clinics at our Faculty Medical Offices, as well as outpatient and inpatient services at the Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley.
Successful candidates will provide services at all locations. Currently, inpatient services are shared among physicians; we are expanding the division to reduce call requirements per physician. We offer excellent support staff for prior authorization, scribes, and a team-based approach with a nurse practitioner.
- Provide services at the Loma Linda University Medical Center, outpatient clinics, and Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley, with clinical expectations for inpatient and outpatient care.
- Contribute to teaching and supervision of fellows, residents, and students on a weekly basis.
- Engage in clinical trials, health services research, medical education, and other scholarly activities.
- Participate in the division’s centers (e.g., Arthritis, Lupus, Scleroderma, Myositis, Sjogren’s, Vasculitis, and Bone Health & Osteoporosis) for patient care and research opportunities.
- Utilize musculoskeletal ultrasound and engage in additional ultrasound applications (vasculitis, parotid and lung ultrasound) as appropriate.
- Support division goals including patient access, scheduling efficiency, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
- Interest in academic medicine with a commitment to teaching and scholarly activity.
- Willingness to provide care at multiple sites and participate as part of a growing division.
- Ability to work in a team-based environment with support staff such as scribes and NPs.
- Interest in clinical trials, education, and ongoing professional development.
Compensation: The listed starting base compensation is $300,000 - $330,000 and is adjusted based on experience and faculty rank. This amount does not include variable compensation or extra productivity and is subject to department plans. More information is discussed during recruitment.
