The Northeast Health District is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Walton County Health Department in Loganville, Georgia. Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures. Provides services in all programs (immunization, WIC, Family Planning, Women’s Health, Diabetes, Hypertension, STD, TB, etc.) to the general public. Assesses patients’ conditions, develops a plan of care, provides treatments, educates patients, and makes referrals as appropriate.
Provides outreach services and other key preventive health services to the community. The ideal candidate will excel in high-quality patient care and possess strong computer skills to manage electronic health records and other digital tools used in modern healthcare.
As a Registered Nurse within the Walton County Health Department at the Georgia Department of Public Health, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the mission of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.
Job Responsibilities- Under broad supervision, provide professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies and/or procedures.
- Focus on prevention of illness, injury or disability, and the promotion of health and maintenance of health for populations.
- Care for populations with special needs during disasters/emergencies and follow biological and chemical protocols.
- Provide treatments for sexually transmitted infections, perform well-woman exams (including Pap smears, pelvic exams, breast exams), and provide preventive and maintenance care per the care plan and nurse protocols.
- Administer medications including birth control, STI treatments, TB medications, and vaccines.
- Function as part of a team and provide direct client services in a clinic setting.
- Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.
