Position: MRI Aide/Front Desk Specialist - Full Time Loganville

Overview

Position Summary
The Front Desk / MRI Aide is responsible for providing excellent patient service while supporting MRI department operations. This role combines front desk responsibilities with direct patient care and clinical support to ensure efficient workflow, patient safety, and a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

Patient Services & Front Desk Duties

  • Greet patients promptly and professionally upon arrival
  • Print and prepare patient paperwork prior to scheduled appointments
  • Contact patients prior to their appointment to review estimated costs and/or copay amounts
  • Collect copays, estimated patient responsibility, and payments at time of service in accordance with clinic policy
  • Send appointment reminders and assist with scheduling and rescheduling as needed
  • Check patients out following their exam and schedule any required follow-up appointments
  • Escort patients to the changing area and provide pre-exam instructions

Patient Care & MRI Support

  • Escort patients to the changing area and provide pre-exam instructions
  • Assist patients with changing into scrubs when needed while maintaining privacy and dignity
  • Provide patients with clear, calm, and accurate instructions before and after exams
  • Assist the MRI technologist with patient care, positioning, and patient comfort as needed
  • Assist with changing coils, room turnover, and preparing the MRI suite for the next patient
MRI Safety Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and compliance with MRI safety policies and procedures
  • Successfully complete MRI safety training prior to working in or around MRI areas
  • Understand and adhere to the ACR MRI Safety Zones (Zones I–IV)
  • Safely enter Zone III and Zone IV only after proper screening and authorization
  • Perform and verify MRI safety screening for patients, visitors, and accompanying persons
  • Ensure all patients and visitors are free of contraindicated ferromagnetic items prior to entering restricted MRI zones
  • Immediately report any MRI safety concerns, incidents, or near-miss events to the MRI technologist or supervisor
  • Maintain strict control of access to restricted MRI areas to prevent unauthorized entry
  • Follow emergency procedures specific to the MRI environment
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift, push, or assist with moving 50 pounds or more
  • Ability to safely assist patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to safely work in a magnetic field environment
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Attention to detail with a strong commitment to patient safety and confidentiality (HIPAA)
Work Hours
  • Scheduled hours: 7:30 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Hours may vary based on department needs, patient volume, and operational requirements
