Low Voltage Job Description
This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of multiple facilities. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or as necessary.
Essential Functions- Sets up and configures various low voltage systems (security systems, fire alarms, CCTV, audio/video systems, network cabling).
- Runs, terminates, and labels cables according to project requirements and industry standards.
- Performs regular maintenance checks to ensure system functionality and reliability, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
- Provides technical support and training to end users, addressing customer inquiries professionally.
- Ensures all installations and repairs adhere to local, state, and federal regulations.
- Follows safety guidelines, maintains accurate records of installations, maintenance, and repairs, generates reports on system performance, and evaluates existing systems for necessary upgrades.
- Works closely with technicians, engineers, and project managers to ensure successful project completion.
- Communicates effectively with clients to understand needs and provide solutions, staying abreast of industry trends.
- Leads and participates in teams, coordinating work assignments and supporting others to achieve timelines and quality.
- Develops and implements processes and practices to meet business needs, collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and partners.
- Demonstrates and supports compliance with company policies, ethics, and standards, guiding and demonstrating adherence, and assisting management with ethical issues.

- Safely operate a motor vehicle and large power equipment; sit, squat, kneel, or crawl for extended periods.
- Visually inspect equipment, locate merchandise, and create documents and reports.
- Present information to small or large groups.
- Travel domestically to and from multiple facilities or work sites, requiring consecutive overnight stays.
- Work or train at multiple facilities or distant locations.
- Travel of extended duration (seven days or more) is not required, except for management training and emergencies.
- Move through narrow, confined spaces such as stacks of merchandise or supplies, storage areas, and closets.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior work experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Prior work experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Prior work experience in a role requiring knowledge of local electrical codes and standards.
- Training or certification in low voltage systems.
- BICSI Installer Certification.
- CompTIA certifications for networking (e.g., Network+).
- Manufacturer‑specific certifications (e.g., Honeywell, Axis, or Bosch systems).
- OSHA 10 or 30‑hour certification/training.
- NICET 1 & 2 Fire Alarm certification.
