Physical Therapist Assistant

As the Physical Therapist Assistant you will perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education aimed at improving and enhancing the patient’s well‑being while following the established plan of care.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Follow all state‑specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in home care and perform only those procedures that the supervising PT authorizes.
  • Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re‑education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
  • Observe, record, and report to the supervising PT, nurse supervisor, and/or physician the patient’s response to treatment and changes in condition; coordinate care with the healthcare team as appropriate.
  • Instruct patient, family, caregiver, and other team members in therapy areas within the scope of the assistant.

Required Qualifications
  • Current license, registration, or certification to assist in the practice of physical therapy in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and dependable vehicle or access to public transportation.
  • Ability to function in any home situation regardless of client’s age, race, creed, color, sex, disability, or financial condition.
  • Available to work a weekend rotation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to perform the physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

Pay is based on several factors, including local labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications. The hourly pay for this role ranges from $23.41 to $41.83 per hour based on full‑time employment.
