Equipment Operator II - Wastewater - Equipment Operators

Overview

Operates high pressure sewer cleaning and closed circuit T.V. equipment, backhoe, dump truck, crew truck and other equipment in the maintenance of wastewater collection; assists crew chief with duties such as barricading, proper signing, and safety procedures, repairs leaks and installs lines using various size and type of pipes and fitting types; uses various hand and power tools in the repair installation and maintenance of wastewater transmission lines.

Support other staff in the Water/Wastewater Division as required.

• Operates high pressure sewer cleaning and closed circuit T.V. equipment, backhoe, dump truck, crew truck and other equipment in the maintenance of wastewater collection.
• Assists crew chief with duties such as barricading, proper signing, and safety procedures, repairs leaks and installs lines using various size and type of pipes and fitting types; uses various hand and power tools in the repair installation and maintenance of wastewater transmission lines.
• Supports other staff in the Water/Wastewater Division as required.

• Must be a graduate of a standard senior high school or equivalent.
• Experience equivalent to two (2) years full-time construction and maintenance work involving the operation of small to large-size equipment.
• Wastewater Collection III Certifications from the State of Utah are required within the first year of employment.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Utah Commercial Driver's License (CDL) at a level appropriate to the equipment operated.
• Must be able to understand, interpret, and implement written and oral instructions in users manuals and equipment specifications.
