What You’ll Work On

The Sales Engineer (SE) expands the sales of Campbell Scientific (CSI) products by generating new business and ensuring growth of existing customer accounts. Assesses potential application of CSI products and services and offers solutions that meet customer needs. Educates customers and communicates customer feedback for future product development; uses technical knowledge of CSI products and services to support and build sales.

Will Support Your Team by Performing the Following Key Tasks
  • Actively grow CSI sales revenue with our Renewable Energy clients.
  • Travel for the purpose of sales and customer relations visits.
  • Develop Value‑Added Resellers (VAR) and Integrators in alignment with sales strategy.
  • Help guide internal product development, marketing, and sales plans based on market needs including the development of case studies, courses, and product brochures.
  • Leverage background and contacts within the industry to develop business and match our solutions to customer needs.
  • Manage key customer accounts.
  • Respond to and follow up on requests for quotes and product information and provide education opportunities for customers on CSI products.
  • Configure and quote complex data acquisition systems and multi‑station networked solutions in collaboration with customer needs.
  • Recruit and strengthen Value‑Added Resellers (VAR) and Integrators in alignment with the renewable energy market partner strategy.
  • Recognize and report on changes in the market and obtain feedback from customers to achieve and maintain competitive products and services.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor of science or business degree (emphasis in sales, business, or renewable energy, preferred).
  • Minimum of two years' experience in the solar and/or wind energy industry, or equivalent evidence of aptitude and interest in solar and/or wind energy.
  • Technical sales experience in the renewable energy field (solar, wind, etc.)
  • An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Experience with Campbell Scientific data loggers and/or other measurement devices including RTU, PLCs, etc., preferred.
  • Experience with solar and/or wind energy resource assessment or operational monitoring projects, preferred.
  • Familiarity with common renewable energy instrumentation (pyranometers, anemometers, etc.), preferred.
  • Experience with electronic remote automated measurements systems, sensors, and peripherals, preferred.
  • Proficiency with using CRM (Client Relationship Management) tools.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and office specific software including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and customer-service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proactive and self‑motivated to increase sales.
