This position is responsible for general food service prep work, in the Junction or TSC (Marketplace & Catering) Kitchen.

Duties include:

• Basic prep & order fulfillment.
• Preparing food items used in the Junction or the Marketplace and Catering.
• Peeling onions, carrots, washing and cutting fruits and vegetables.
• Cutting and trimming meats, chicken, beef, pork and fish.
• Cooking meats, sauces, starches, and vegetables.
• Keep the work station clean and sanitized.
• Help other areas during busy times.
• Other duties assigned by the chef.

Minimum qualifications:

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Food Handler's Permit is required within the first 30 days of employment.

Preferred qualifications:

• Knowledge of the care and use of food service equipment and kitchen utensils.
• Knowledge of health hazards in food preparation, service and necessary precautionary measures.

Advertised Salary: $11.00 - $15.00 BOE ADA

The position requires considerable physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting (50 pounds) and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects with walking, stooping and standing. Employees must adhere to safety precautions and may be required to use protective equipment.
