Manufacturing Engineer, CNC Machinist
Corvus Engineering is a precision manufacturing and product development company serving medical, aerospace, industrial, and consumer product clients. We run a clean, organized, high-trust shop and take pride in doing difficult work well.
We are looking for a senior-level CNC Mill machinist who can operate independently, think strategically, and take ownership of our turning capability.
This is not a machine operator role. This is a leadership-level machinist role.
What You’ll Do- Own CNC Mill setups from start to finish
- Interpret complex prints and CAD models
- Develop machining strategy for 3-axis and multi-axis parts
- Select tooling, work holding, and process flow
- Program or modify CAM programs (Fusion 360 preferred)
- Optimize cycle times while maintaining quality
- Hold tight tolerances consistently
- Perform first article inspections
- Troubleshoot and solve machining problems without supervision
- Contribute to continuous improvement in shop processes
You will be expected to think like a machinist, not just follow instructions.
What We’re Looking For- 5+ years CNC milling experience
- Strong setup experience including multi-operation and complex parts
- Deep understanding of feeds, speeds, tool engagement, and toolpath strategy
- Ability to read complex mechanical drawings and interpret GD&T correctly
- Experience holding tight tolerances in production environments
- Programming experience strongly preferred (Fusion 360 or similar CAM)
- Strong problem-solving ability and process troubleshooting skills
- 4th or 5th axis machining
- Complex fixture design
- Medical or aerospace manufacturing experience
- CMM or advanced inspection experience
- Experience improving and standardizing shop processes
- You take pride in craftsmanship
- You do not cut corners
- You care about efficiency and quality
- You want to build something, not just clock in
- You want autonomy and responsibility
- You value honest communication and continuous improvement
- You contribute to a positive, no-drama shop environment
- Competitive pay based on experience
- Clean, professional shop environment
- High trust culture
- Direct collaboration with engineering
- Opportunity to shape and grow our milling capability
- Interesting and challenging work
We are building a team of high ownership machinists. If you want to just run parts, this is not the right fit. If you want to own your craft and level up a shop, we should talk. If this position interests you but you’re not completely qualified, please reach out anyway. Ambition and attitude are more important than individual skills.
