Overview
Utah State University is seeking qualified applicants for a 12‑month Athletic Training Residency position. The resident will oversee day‑to‑day operations of a Division I program, working closely with Athletic Trainers, Team Physicians, and Team Physical Therapists. The role requires a strong working knowledge of NCAA compliance and an understanding of all rules and regulations regarding compliance issues. The position must be NATABOC certified and eligible for state licensing in Utah.
Responsibilities- Maintain professional competency by successfully completing Continuing Education Units to retain Athletic Trainer Certification by the NATA Board of Certification and meet Utah athletic training licensing requirements.
- Organize and manage the athletic training program, including physician consultation, medical record keeping, public relations, inventory reports, and maintain upkeep of training room and equipment.
- Evaluate injuries, plan treatment programs for male and female student athletes, perform taping and other injury prevention activities, provide rehabilitation of injuries, respond to emergency situations, and analyze conditions to make appropriate responses.
- Coordinate interactions and activities between the athletic department and various entities on and off campus.
- Report directly to the Head Athletic Trainer.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree; NATABOC certified and eligible for state licensing in Utah; graduate from a CAATE accredited program.

ADAThe environment and physical requirements may change depending on the specific function of the work each department performs. Incumbents may be in both indoor and outdoor environments. Indoors, in an office space, event space, or public space are protected from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Incumbents may nearly continuously sit and often use repetitive hand motion (such as typing).
