Join our R&D team at Thermo Fisher Scientific and help advance discoveries that make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. As a Mechanical Engineer I, you'll work on product development projects, from concept through manufacture, collaborating with teams to create solutions that address scientific challenges.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?- Translate customers' wants into new product designs through an iterative process.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams, including software engineers, hardware engineers, and project managers, to define system requirements and specifications.
- Develop and maintain system architectures, models, and documentation to optimally communicate system design and functionality.
- Identify safe and robust (regulatory mindful) components and perform associated testing.
- Detect and address technical issues and challenges throughout the system development lifecycle.
- Update and maintain current product drawings and components as needed.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 0-2 years' experience.
- Proficiency in CAD design software;
Solid Works, Pro/e, or equivalent. - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with customers
- Good technical writing skills to produce reports and documents.
- Self-motivated and willing to take clear ownership of work.
- Ability to identify and resolve issues with strong problem-solving skills
