Department of Social Work invites applications for a 9‑month non‑tenure track appointment at the rank of Lecturer. Located at the USU flagship campus in Logan, Utah, this position advances USU’s mission as a land‑grant public service university and strengthens interdisciplinary collaboration with the Heravi Peace Institute. The department is committed to promoting health and wellbeing through strengths‑based, empowering, and inclusive approaches.

We seek a candidate with demonstrated expertise in peace building and conflict transformation whose work bridges social work and peace studies.

This appointment includes teaching responsibilities in the Department of Social Work and the Heravi Peace Institute. The successful candidate will contribute to courses such as Introduction to Peace Studies and Spirituality in Social Work, and may develop additional coursework that integrates peace building, restorative practices, nonviolent conflict resolution, trauma‑informed approaches, and community resilience. The role assignment is 80% teaching and 20% service.

Start date August 1 2026.

• Depth of social work practice experience
• Demonstrated expertise in peace building, conflict transformation, or restorative justice
• Ability to integrate spirituality, ethics, and global or intercultural perspectives into social work education
• Commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and applied community engagement
• Passion for advancing USU’s land‑grant mission through teaching, outreach, and public impact

• Teach graduate and undergraduate social work courses linked to the requested areas of expertise and departmental needs.
• Mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
• Provide service to the department, college, and the social work profession.

• MSW from a CSWE‑accredited social work program.
• Two years post‑MSW practice experience.
• Expertise in peace building and peace studies.
• Active license to practice social work in the state of Utah.

• Teaching experience at undergraduate and graduate levels.
• Teaching experience with online and distance education technology.
