Overview

The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will serve as an instructional coach supporting Pyramid Model External Coaches in building the capacity of internal coaches to effectively implement evidence-based behavioral and instructional practices. The BCBA will design and oversee behavior support plans while actively supporting the external coach in learning, practicing, reflecting on, and sustaining high-quality implementation within natural early childhood routines.

This position will be primarily telework-eligible within the state of Utah and will not have an on-site base location. However, travel will be required to meet in-person with programs across the state that are implementing the Pyramid Model.

Responsibilities
  • Support the development of Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), skill assessments, individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), program discipline policies, and ongoing data analysis.
  • Coach external coaches in learning, practicing, and implementing evidence-based behavioral and instructional strategies.
  • Model strategies in-person and in real-time within classrooms and daily routines.
  • Provide performance-based feedback, reflection, and ongoing support to promote fidelity and independence to the external coach.
  • Support the external coach in generalizing strategies across settings, routines, and learners.
  • Support the alignment behavior and learning programs with early childhood development, play-based learning, and inclusive practices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, data collection, and progress reports.
  • Ensure services align with BCBA ethical standards, state regulations, and program policies.
  • Support program-wide continuous improvement through data-informed decision-making.
  • Meet in-person with programs that are implementing the Pyramid Model.
  • Provide professional development.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current BCBA certification in good standing.
  • 5 years of experience working with children ages birth-5.
  • 5 years of experience coaching or training adults in educational or clinical settings.
  • 1 year of experience working in an early childhood program implementing the Pyramid Model.
  • Experience in data-based decision-making.
  • Experience in providing resources and materials to promote the implementation of evidence-based practices.
  • Reliable access to transportation to travel to Pyramid Model implementation locations across the state of Utah.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in early childhood education, preschool, or inclusive settings.
  • Familiarity with IEP/IFSP processes.
  • Training or experience in practice-based coaching, implementation science, and professional development.
  • Strong facilitation and feedback skills.
  • Familiarity with Prevent Teach Reinforce for Young Children and Prevent Teach Reinforce for Families.
  • Experience in providing professional development to practitioners.
  • Experience with the use of practice observation or assessment tools.
  • Experience in using distance technology.

  • Ability to coach adults through learning and behavior change.
  • Strong observation, modeling, and feedback skills.
  • Data-driven decision making with a supportive, strengths-based approach.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and responsiveness in dynamic early childhood environments.
  • Willingness to be trained in selected Pyramid Model strategies and practices.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and collaborative teaming.

Advertised Salary
